Slow Cooker Sweet Potato Turkey Chili
Time…
You’ve heard it said: Time is our most precious commodity. However, do you ever feel as though your day is filled with tasks that are mundane, elusive, or unworthy of the time spent on it? Otherwise said, laundry, cooking, and cleaning? Yep, me too. There are so many other things that I wish I could spend my time on. Things that are fun, life-giving, joyous, or full of laughter. I dream about getting to spend my days without worries or various chores, just to be care-free.
But as we all know, this is not the reality. In fact, most of the time we are stretched thin with our time, being bombarded with various things we must do to be “successful” or “productive.” Does this hit home?
What would it look like to change your perspective of time? To look at the hours in your life as a gift, no matter how you spend them. To give yourself grace for the tasks that take longer than you expect, to look at the laundry as a way of serving your family, to focus on dinner as the way you fuel your loved ones.
In fact, so many of the everyday tasks that take so much of our time are essential for the people we love. Your kids need the tedious tasks that you do for them that result in their clean clothing and nourishing food. But every once in a while, having a little extra time to spend on the floor playing with your children, is the little gift of time you may need.
This Turkey Chili was made with the intention of giving you a few moments of time back. What will you spend it on?
